I have decided I might be taking this blogging too seriously (by nature, a perfectionist). I've read a few other blogs and have enjoyed the spur of the moment posts! I, on the otherhand now have a month to catch up on...I will choose a select few of the heartfelt moments of the month!
1. Losing Belle - Wow you've never felt your heart sink more than when you realize your child is gone and you have no idea where to look. At University Mall a few weeks ago, Belle ran off from my mom and my mom thought she must have seen me. Minutes later she called and neither of us had Belle. We searched our recent paths and places Belle would go, with no luck. I finally faced the fact that I wasn't going to find her on my own and reported her missing to the info desk. Not more than 5 minutes later they called me to come get her at the info desk. She sat up high on the counter with a man, not in uniform. As I approached the only thing I thought to ask was "Where were you?" She looked away and the man answered "outside." I couldn't even ask any more questions. Through tears, I repeatedly thanked the man for bringing her inside. Belle began to cry too at this point. Finally we realized that she ran ahead of my mom looking for me. Not seeing me she kept going till she went through Nordstrom's and out to the parking lot where our car was (in the dark). She had some parking lot mud on her pants too...wow, scary. I held her so tight that night, amazed that I could love this little person that much.
2. How I love thee? Let me count the ways - Or should I count the hours that I'm away from home this month first...Okay 48 hrs home, 72 hrs away, 7 days home, 48 hrs away, 24 hrs home, 60 hrs away, 30 hrs home, 12 hrs away, 48 hrs home, 72 hrs away, and 72 hrs home. Not to mention one of those trips was with my mom to my cousin's wedding on Valentine's Day! Dave took care of our two little valentines for the weekend. So Dave will probably think this is cheesy, but I love that he lets me be cheesy. I love that he makes it his chore everyday to clean up the house after I've let Belle and Callie make a mess all day. I love his entreprenuerial spirit. I love his desire to get out and do things and see the world. I love that he lets me eat ice cream and brownies even if I just told him that I need to lose 5 lbs. I love that he loves our girls just as much as I do. I love that he likes to play football, basketball and golf with the guys and that he lets me go have a girls night every so often or my HS girls weekend every year. I love that no matter how much better I want to be, he makes me feel like I'm a million bucks the way I am. I love that he knows I'll be writing on here forever and says he's going to bed so I'll go to bed too since I need to get up at 5 am tomorrow! I love you Dave!
3. My new camera and a wedding - Have I mentioned that I love my new camera? Sorry, I haven't posted any pics yet...I took 200 pics at my cousin's wedding, I'll choose a few to post. How fun to catch such joyous moments at a wedding! One more reason I love Dave :) He knows the right gifts! A Kitchenaid and a Nikon that I couldn't live life without now! (PS - the pics above were taken by my friend Kristen, http://www.shadetree.squarespace.com/, I'm not pro yet :)
4. Callie Girl - She gets overlooked a little because she is just such a good baby. I have to say I am thoroughly enjoying round 2 of baby life. It's so much easier the second time around and I just want her to stay a baby. She even extended my favorite stage - the sitting, but not crawling stage. Sweet thing has been sitting for 3 months now! Better yet, she gets to what she wants by reaching and scooting on her bum, but no crawling! I just can't hug and kiss her enough!
